A single mother, relying on her safety-tested baby car seat, lost her son in a side-impact collision when the seat separated from the base. Weeks later, she found out that there had been several reports of her make and model of seat separating from its base before the accident she was involved in occurred. Yet a formal investigation didn't start until after she lost her son. At the end of four months, the investigation still found that there was no need to recall.

Baby car seats are supposed to be designed to protect our most precious cargo - our children. When manufacturers and regulations fail us, we are left to pick up the pieces ourselves.
